On this day in 1954 The Queen visited Australia, the first reigning monarch to do so.
I can't say I'm not happy to see the end of January and the mountain of crap it brought with it. February brings a new wave of drinkers who for some reason thought it was a bad idea to drink beer in January, also the Six Nations is on!
Been a funny week for us, losing our four-legged family member Izzy on Monday, she has been in our family for 8 years and now it feels rather empty. Vincent Johnson and his team have been in fitting glycol pipework to accommodate a further 10 tanks.
We've fitted additional sockets and moved some stuff around now we have access to the new brewery floor, although it still looks like a bit of a building site.
We’ve also purchased a generator which means if our electric supply fails we can plug this doofer in and make electric! This dinosaur produces 90kva and will supply 125amps/phase. It does excite me a little as my dad used to have the same engines in his County 1174’s built in 1977. The engine was a 6.6L and provided around 113hp. However there is a slight difference, this one has a turbocharger! It’s a straight six ford engine and over 40 years old.
We have another blood orange infused Small Batch due in a weeks time. its been brought back after we had so much love for the Blood Orange & Pink Grapefruit IPA, this is a more approachable ABV @ 3.9% and we've lost the Grapefruit and added more bloody orangeness! We have split 40kg of blood orange between 20 casks of beer. Watch out for this stuff over the next few weeks.
Easy Tiger launch Saturday 9th of February from 18:30 ish, we have live music from Back from Beyond and Pizzas 🍕
Have a tip top week, cheers Steve.
